Monday’s meeting on Cavendish road concerning was an amazing success inasmuch as more than thirty residents turned up. Considering the short notice and from such a small catchment area even I was taken aback how much crime goes on.If my premise it right that you only get somewhere in this country if you shout loudest I was please to see the CST Broughton Park Patrol and the police, despite the fact that he never answered a single question. They now know we are here and was to he listened too and lets see where it takes us.As for the Council I have asked them about·       Cutting back trees ·       Lighting ·       Repairing the roads etc. And I look forward to reporting back soon.

If you live locally it will not shock you to hear crime and how the police deal with it, is the biggest issue locally, even more so now we know GMP is rated one of the worst in the country.

A Conservative member who was recently carjacked is holding an open meeting this Monday with the Police CST and other local bodies, all are welcome to attend. For more information please contact me on 07896 343769.

Maternity services – The making of a Cllr 14 October, 2007

Recently one neighbour of mine was turned away from Crumpsall delivery suite and gave birth within an hour of arriving in St. Mary’s; another gave birth in Hope Hospitals car park. It is staggering the more I learn how Labour can even attempt to close local services. Do they not understand they are playing with fire or are votes the only thing they care about?

Whist I was a Councillor in Hackney I got personally involved in many causes individual and communal. One in particular the saving of a special needs nursery was a cause that made me as an activist and defined my tenure in Hackney.

The proposed closure of NHS services in Manchester is looking like being the same, the difference however is I can personally relate too this cause as well as just sympathising with, my wife had two quick births locally.

This is one time I do not make any attempt at apologising for getting “too emotionally involved” as one Labour source put it how can one not?

A local Councillor is first and always a local champion, not that my local Labour councillors would understand that living miles away. Kersal as well as other areas will not give up the fight so nor will I be intimidated by Labour Dirty spin campaigns.

‘O how good it is to be a Tory’ 7 October, 2007

It truly does feel great to be a Conservative today, running away in the polls. I did and continue to caution however when we where leading in the polls by 10% that the only poll that counts it the ballot box. This past week has shown us once again how quickly opinions can change.

Moreover until we loose that arrogance of the 90’s and learn what it means to earn power. Evan more important is what Cameron said we need  to learn what Labour’s mistakes have been, where they went wrong, and how we will put things right, we will not get in.

If and when we begin to look humble and like a party of government in the waiting, we will be kept waiting.

So I look forward to working hard for my friends and neighbours and continuing to do my bit to making the case for a conservative return to governance and further embed ourselves on the centre ground.

Cheers David!!
