What a load of rubbish 18 April, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — odze @ 9:01 am

A few months ago I asked the Council if they would provide a pre-Passover bin collection as most other local authorities with a large Jewish population do, so as to prevent the rubbish pilling up on the streets. Suffice to say I got no answer.

A few weeks ago, my colleagues once again asked and were given no answer. So I put it in my advert, and true to form (it is pre-election, after all) just days later Labour announce there would be skips provided on Thursday. Well, none have turned up and I’ve had calls and e-mails all yesterday. This morning I received a text at 1.23am this morning and the phone has kept ringing from 5am.

I understand and I hope that the skips will be here today (Friday) but in the meantime huge piles of rubbish have been dumped at the designated areas.

What we learn from this is:

1.       Pressure does work.

2.       Labour only care when there is an election.

3.       Yet they still can’t ever get it right!

I look forward to a proper arrangement being made in good time before next year to look after the hard working rate payers ALL YEAR ROUND.

UPDATE: Skips arrived this morning and most of the rubbish collected. No end of fury and misery caused, but lesson learned for Labour the Council Don’t play petty politics with people’s bins.

I posted this on Politicalbetting.com. Which goes to the heart of why I can’t stand politicians without principals, namely LD’s.

Mike I must say, you have just shown the worst of Liberal Democrat tendencies. There is an oft quoted saying that comes to mind “everything you say must be true, but not everything true must be said.” Some may be thinking it does not mean we have to say it. My deepest respects to her family and friends.
