This time on Cavendish road. The latest barbarity occurred seven minutes ago, so I will update this post in the morning.

The arsonist fireman 26 September, 2008

Early on in politics I learned to always pay attention to the kneejerk reaction from “the man on the street”. So I was amused to hear someone say in the shop today, that Gordon Browns speech reminded him of the boy that shot his father and mother, but was asking the judge to go lenient on an orphan.

It did worry me, as in a way Brown did have a point, regardless of how competent team Osborne, this is a time for experience. However just as the orphan, although may have a legitimate point, it does not make him right.

Appealing a parking fine 21 September, 2008

Filed under: politics — odze @ 12:24 am

I was indignant to read in my mornings post confirmation that Salford City Council failed to contest my appeal against a parking fine issues to me. I.e. I no longer have to pay it.

To be clear I appealed primarily on the grounds that the signage was and still IS purposely misleading, and in the knowledge that most Councils reject almost all appeals, but then fail to defend their rejection of your appeal when it gets to the national adjudicator.

What’s so unusual about that you ask? Well the ground they gave the parking adjudicator was exactly the same as the grounds they gave to me for rejecting both my original appeals I made to them.

The truth be told the real reason for Councils not contesting most appeals to the parking adjudicator is that even should they win it costs them more to defend their claim. Furthermore most people are not aware of the national adjudicator or the fact that the vast majority of appeals to the Council win but IF taken to the adjudicator, Councils either do not challenge or lose their claim, and those people that are aware of the adjudicator usually have good grounds for doing so.

So the moral from this to you is, if you feel your claim is justified always appeal, for the vast majority of the time you will win.

However stark questions remain for Salford Council

1.       Why make every effort to withhold from the public that the national parking adjudicator exists and is independent of the Council.

2.       Why give the same reason for rejecting my appeal, and then not challenging my appeal to the adjudicator.

3.       What they will do to make signage clearer for the unwitting public.

Benjamin Netanyahu, why you ask, Livni’s “victory” will consolidate the moderate right the Russians and most importantly of all the Sephardim (Jews of Middle Eastern origin) behind Mr. Netanyahu. All three had good relations with the Likud in general and Bibi in particular. All three of whom do not like and will not vote for Livni.

Thank said other then on the economic front I don’t have much time for any of them. Bring on the elections; all the same I am not holding my breath. There is still two years to run till the mandatory elections and there are allot of MK’s who have what to loose from a fresh election.

PpS next month my blog is going for a well overdue makeover, I only started this as a short term blog, but you my small but dedicated readership have enjoyed my spelling mistakes too much for me to just stop.

However the format is a bit out of date so your suggestion will be much appreciated.
