Salford – Holocaust memorial service 28 January, 2009

I was externally impressed with the service tonight at Buile Hill Park, in memorial to those killed by the Nazis between 1933-1945. Both at the skill of the school children and the attendance from young and all.

I would like to add my thanks to all the organisers, and Mrs. Helen Stein for her memories.

Without taking anything away from the event, I was puzzled by the lack of publicity for it by Salford Council, in future it would be nice too see it advertised to the wider public as well as just some schools.

Whow what a master stroke, hard working and FULL TIME shadow cabinet member. Pleased about Pickles, the recent darling of the grassroots, I have my doubt, at worst he is ok, if not very good. Overall a dream reshuffle bar Clarke

Ken Clarke – No thank you 18 January, 2009

I am not sure what has possessed the top team in my party, but bringing back KC has to be the riskiest move in years.
He is just not a team player, because of the sterling work Michael Howard did in reuniting the party we forget so quickly how easily it was for Labour to play on our divisions. Furthermore I have never had time for colleges that can’t keep their disagreements private, when I have had cause to disagree with my local party, I have always been forthright in making my views known, but to my colleges and them only. often I have won the argument, and when I did not I respected the majority view. I know many Conservative activists who will not forgive KC for allowing Tony to so damage the party by sharing a platform with him.

And yes Europe, a few short months before what should be some promising election results, to bring back the single most divisive figure in the party over Europe is just MAD. Again look back and learn from history, look how well Hague did is uniting the left and right of our party round the policy “in Europe not run by Europe”. I understand the temptation, his talent and media profile. I hope and fear DC will get away with it, only because the tide is with him, just is it worth the risk I ask?

British Genius 14 January, 2009

As the main stumbling block to the Gaza crisis is the rearmament of Hamas by Iran via the Tunnels from Egypt called the Philadelphia corridor.

So the British has come up with a outstanding solution, put European monitors on the crossing points, after all they are acceptable to both sides.

Except that this is what the Europeans did four years ago when Israel unilaterally left Gaza. And the monitors promptly fled before even a shot was fired by Hamas terrorist.

And to think nobody else has the sense to come up with such a elementary and brainstorming suggesting duh, sound like right out of Brown’s top draw this!

Hero’s – Israeli style 12 January, 2009

Are the Nathaniel family, who’s son was killed by friendly fire it the beginning of the ground assault on Gaza. Who’s father wrote a personal letter to the tank crew, stating that not only does he have nothing against them, as god obviously wanted he pass to pass on, He was glad it was at the hands of our own and not at the hands of such an enemy. He states further he has nothing against the army, and asks the crew that when the war is over he would be grateful if they can meet, so he can give them all a big hug. In which other country?

Cease Fire 12 January, 2009

Hamas are such a dependable partner in any future cease fire deal, that they are now showing such good intentions during the daily three hour pause in firing. By sending over 5 Kassam rockets into Israel dureing the pause, as well as using Red Crescent ambulances to cross Gaza, and hijacking a good proportion of humanitarian aid, intended for hospitals and civilians. No doubt you will read this in ALL the free press!

Not in my time 11 January, 2009

I never imagined the day when I would see a swastika daubed on my synagogue, in the heart of a major UK city. However thinking about it, just a few years ago in Finsbury Park London my old ward, a Synagogue was attacked in just that manor, just much worse. Privately police briefed us then it was far more likely to be Muslim yobs, then white extremists.

I have always argued that what happened in 1930’s Germany could not happen in the UK, because of democratic entrenchment, I am now doubtful. The similarities are too eerie, a prolonged financial crisis blamed on prominent Jews, and rising hate.

I hope I am wrong, but would like to pass on my deepest thanks to the police and as force, for their sterling work and for taking the threat to normal order and peoples life’s seriously. More importantly I would like to thank individual officers doing extended overtime, making personal sacrifices, personally getting harmed by fridge hardened lefties and Muslim extremist, each one should get nothing less then a medal.

Not bias BBC 10 January, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — odze @ 10:09 pm

If it was not so cynical, it would be funny watching the BBC correspondent half a mile from the Gaza border putting on full body armour, just as his producer shoats “going live in three”. Then promptly taking it off as soon as is finishing his broadcast, and hanging around the very same spot for the rest of the day.

It is scant consolation according to my friend a journalist, who is currently on “call up duty” with the IDF embedded with the foreign press, that he tells me its standard practice for all the “hostile” media. I.e. most European and Arab press.

But hey the BBC is not bias at all, its just makes better viewing.

Mazel Tov Worsley-Iain 9 January, 2009

Congratulation to Councillor Iain Lindley who got selected last night to fight the new Worsley and Eccles South seat for the Conservatives at the next general election, when it finally comes. Being local and as competent as he is, Iain is the person that will bring real change to Worsley and the candidate Labour fear. More importantly for us, its the best change in decades of Salford having a Conservative MP.
